Our antiques are arranged in several categories for enjoyable browsing. Within the broad heading of Antiques can be found furnishings of every type.

 

David Aust Design features antique furniture from  New England, Europe and Tibet, suitable for the library, parlor, or office. 

 

At our shop we have four rooms filled with antique and vintage furniture settings; with lamps, books, glass, ceramics, African artifacts and European art. Carefully chosen and presented, the objects are both beautiful and reflective of human material culture through the generations.

 

Silas Hoadley of Plymouth, CT (1786-1870) was making clocks by 1808. He'd apprenticed with his uncle Samuel Hoadley [who took part in the American Revolution], and later was associated with Eli Terry and Seth Thomas. This clock has one of his wooden movements for which he became known, some having unusual inventions of his own devise. Circa 1820. 

 

Ebonized Pine original finish with excellent surface. All original brasses. Original 30 hour time and strike wooden movement, both weights, and pendulum. Dial in good condition with signs of age from winding and use, but very evocative and still attractive.

 

An 89 inch tall New England case clock of ebonized pine with arched dial and glass, rectangular waist door, stylized French feet and fret-top with finials.      .. SOLD.  ..
