Artifacts include crafts and curiosities from cultures around the globe. One might find textiles, tools, musical instruments, religious and ceremonial items, clocks banks bookends kitchen implements and carriage parts.
All sorts of household objects from long ago and far away speak to us of the people who made and used them, and the kinds of lives they led. We always have a large and changing inventory with hundreds of historical and cultural artifacts here at our central New England location.

The antique musical instrument pictured on the left is from the Songye people of West Africa. It can be tuned and played. It has a pleasing and powerful tone. The sound is ethereal.
This hide-covered string bass plays in the cello range. However it stands nearly six feet tall, anchoring the music and the setting. It is warm and vibrant.
This fabulous piece of traditional West African folk art would fit into a night club or a living room. Also great in a den or studio, standing at about 70 inches, it has a wonderful presence. This unique hand made instrument, an artifact of the Songye people, can still be played and is in very good condition with signs of age and use. $1800.
